As a quick refresher, he takes video recordings of famous artists like Eric Clapton and KISS, and he overdubs them with some of the best worst playing imaginable. I can’t eat or drink anything while watching one of his videos, for fear that I’ll spray my monitor. StSanders has done two things recently that caught my attention. First, he released many of his overdubs as an album on iTunes. Second, Weezer (yes, the Weezer) caught wind of what was going and paid homage to one of StSanders works. Enjoy!

StSanders on iTunes:
http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/shreds/id392894860

Weezer covers StSanders:
http://stsanders.com/www/pages/videos/weezer-plays-kiss-shreds.php

Having grown up in the hinterlands of Idaho, I am aware that my grammar and punctuation are far from perfect, but I can’t bring myself to text and type like a caveman. Your Daily Distraction is a humorous look at how one person copes with gross encounters of the grammar kind. Enjoy!

http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/2010/04/alot-is-better-than-you-at-everything.html

But, I clearly remember the dark days of the ‘90s, when the really lucky people had 56k modems and everyone else was slogging along at 28k. Loading a website could take several minutes, and web developers were fanatical about keeping websites small so they could load quickly.

Your Daily Distraction is the results a contest called 10k Apart, and the challenge was to create a website using modern web technologies that is 10k or less in size. To put that in perspective, a single picture from a modern digital camera is about 300 times that large. Some of the results are very impressive, and it’s cool to see how creative people can be under incredible constraints. Enjoy! (Thanks to @brotherjudkins for sending this out on Twitter)

http://10k.aneventapart.com/

Then again, I’m not from Finland. Apparently, the Finns are a crazy group of people that enjoy sitting in temperatures over 200º F, slowly baking themselves to death. Your Daily Distraction is an entertaining article written by an American who entered the Sauna World Championships in 2007. His experience shows why we’re lucky that baseball is the American pastime.
